African American Children’s Theatre, Ltd., Milwaukee, WI - $20,000 for support of organizational capacity-building including participation in the Milwaukee Youth Arts Center.

Aurora Sinai Hospital and Medical Clinic, Milwaukee, WI  -  $50,000 to support the Bread of Healing Clinic and Pharmacy Co-op, which serves uninsured patients on Milwaukee's Northwest side.

Bay View Community Center, Milwaukee, WI - $4,000 as a year-end gift for continuance of serving families on the southeast side of Milwaukee through programs that develop the individual, provide support and strengthen families.

Betty Brinn Children’s Museum, Inc., Milwaukee, WI - $20,000 for support of the Family Focus program, providing disadvantaged families with varied activities as well as free museum membership and a transportation subsidy.

Big Brothers Big Sisters, Milwaukee, WI  -  $25,000 for the Amachi Project, aimed at helping children of incarcerated parents by matching them up with warm, caring adults through a cooperative partnership of public and private organizations.

Children's Safety Services, Milwaukee, WI   -  $10,000 to support prevention education, to build increased awareness and greater competence among children regarding varied dangers outside the home and on the Internet.

City of Milwaukee - Department of Public Health, Milwaukee, WI  -  $30,000 for support of the nonprofit community component of Plain Talk, a nationally-tested strategy that helps adults communicate effectively with young people about sexual risk-taking.  The project has sustained some noteworthy results in other cities.  A key partner is New Concept Self Development Center. 

COA Youth and Family Centers, Milwaukee, WI   -  $40,000 for the Family-Centered Programming Initiative, for high-risk youth and families in central city Milwaukee including childcare, after-school programming, health programs and parent support activities. Foundation support will expand the program to COA's Burleigh Center.

Cornerstone Achievement Academy, Milwaukee, WI - $4,000 as a year-end gift to continue offering curriculum incorporating “work-base” learning exploration activities to “at-risk” students within Milwaukee Public Schools.

Creative SHARP Presentations, Inc., Milwaukee, WI - $45,000 over two years for a staff position to oversee curriculum development that creates teaching techniques and materials to integrate the arts and arts history into Milwaukee area schools.

Donors Forum of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, WI  -  $5,000 for the In the Public Interest project, a taskforce formed to identify improved practices and guiding principles for members. 

Family Services of Waukesha, Waukesha, WI   -  $20,000 for support of the Waukesha County Child Advocacy Center, to coordinate social service and law enforcement interventions and investigations in cases of child abuse.

Friends of Milwaukee’s Rivers, Inc., Milwaukee, WI - $15,000 for support of Becoming an Advocate for Clean Water: An Engagement Program for Seniors, leadership training for volunteers, 55 and older to become advocates on water qualty and water use issues in the greater Milwaukee area. The effort is based on a “Senior Statesman” program operated in Madison and Milwaukee.

The Gathering of Southeastern Wisconsin, Milwaukee, WI - $4,000 – as a year-end gift to support the retention of the mental health nurse on site at the Breakfast Program.

Gilda’s Club, Milwaukee, WI - $5,000 as a year-end gift for the Community Outreach Program, connecting to underserved communities in the metropolitan Milwaukee area.

Girl Scouts of Milwaukee Area, Milwaukee, WI  -  $15,000 for the Bold Leadership Development Program, to empower pre-teen and teen girls to grow individually, work across cultures, and help plan and lead their own programs.

Grand Avenue Club, Inc., Milwaukee, WI  -  $20,000 for the Young Adult Supported Education Program, to provide support for young adults who have experienced mental illness so they can set and achieve educational goals.

Greater Milwaukee Foundation, Milwaukee, WI - $100,000 for support of the implementation of New Leaders for New Schools in Milwaukee, a national leadership initiative to recruit, train, and place principals in Milwaukee Public Schools.

Greater Milwaukee Foundation, Milwaukee, WI   -  $50,000 for the support of the Mosaic Partnership project, to create partnership and understanding cross racial lines through group and one-on-one activities, based on a national model that is adapted for Milwaukee.

Greater Milwaukee Foundation/Nonprofit Management Fund, Milwaukee, WI  -  $25,000 to support the BoardStar project with its focus increasing the involvement and capability of the Boards of nonprofit organizations in the greater Milwaukee area.

The Guest House of Milwaukee, Inc. Milwaukee, WI - $30,000 for support to enhance services of the agency’s Emergency Shelter and related support services offering opportunity to the greater Milwaukee area hungry and homeless.

Hope House of Milwaukee, Inc. (in collaboration with the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill), Milwaukee, WI - $20,000 for support of the Protective Payee program, providing financial management support to people with mental illness in order to reduce homelessness.

Housing Resources, Inc., Milwaukee, WI   -  $10,000 for support of the Reverse Mortgage Counseling Program, to provide educational seminars, counseling, and referrals for older homeowners to assist them with the goal of remaining in their homes.

Interfaith Caregiving Network, Inc., Waukesha, WI - $25,000 for support of the Community Outreach Expansion program, to further assist seniors and adults with disabilities to remain living independently in the community with the aid of volunteers who provide supportive, neighborly services.

Layton Boulevard West Neighbors, Inc., Milwaukee, WI  -  $40,000 for a lead grant to support the Home Repair for Older Homeowners project, that provides seniors with affordable home assessment and repair services so that aging-in-place can occur and older residents can remain homeowners.  Partners include Rebuilding Together Milwaukee and Interfaith, among others. 

Legal Aid Society of Milwaukee, Milwaukee, WI   -  $30,000 for support of the HELP Project (Helping the Elderly with Legal Problems) , to improve medical records, coordinate advocacy and expand legal representation resources for older adults whose application for Supplemental Security Income have been denied.

Matt Talbot Recovery Center, Inc., Milwaukee, WI - $4,000 as a year-end gift in support of the Family Reunification Initiative, to facilitate re-connections between recovering addicts and their minor children.

Mental Health Association in Milwaukee County, Milwaukee, WI  -  $15,000 for support of an outside evaluation of the Invisible Children's Program (ICP). 

Milwaukee Development Corporation , Milwaukee, WI  -  $10,000 for support of the Young Professionals of Milwaukee's Milwaukee Magnet Project, a regional strategy to engage young professionals in civic activism through the Internet and peer-initiated projects.

Milwaukee Public Library Foundation , Milwaukee, WI  -  $25,000 for support of the Summer Reading Program, a citywide effort to link library resources with community agencies and schools to promote reading and reading retention skills during the summer.

Milwaukee Public Museum, Milwaukee, WI  -  $25,000 to maintain and strengthen children's programming at the Museum.

Milwaukee Public Schools Foundation, Inc., Milwaukee, WI - $3,000 as a year-end gift in support of the March of Champions program.

Milwaukee Public Television Friends, Milwaukee, WI  -  $30,000 for support of the educational component to The Making of Milwaukee, a book by John Gurda developed into a five-hour documentary about the City of Milwaukee's founding and emergence as a modern city. 

Milwaukee Repertory Theater, Milwaukee, WI  -  $18,400 for the REP Access Program, services that will expand the availability of programming to elders and people with disabilities.

Milwaukee Turners, Milwaukee, WI  -  $13,000 for support of the 4th Street Forum, a discussion series on varied civic issues facing our region by using the media as an important educational tool. A partnership with the Milwaukee Public Library will create a circulating collection of Forum broadcast events.

Milwaukee Urban League, Milwaukee, WI - $3,000 – as a year-end gift in support of the National Achievers Society program.

Milwaukee Wave of Kindness, Milwaukee, WI - $5,000 – as a year-end gift in support of introducing and advancing the sport of soccer with children, especially those from low-income families in the Milwaukee area.

My Home, Your Home, Inc., Milwaukee, WI  -  $10,000 for program accreditation, to assure the highest level of services for its programs serving young people in the child welfare system, approval to be pursued through the Council on Accreditation.

The Nehemiah Project, Inc., Milwaukee, WI - $4,000 – as a year-end gift to the Nehemiah House in Milwaukee, an agency assisting residents with a stable educational environment and productive family relationships.

Nia Imani Family, Inc., Milwaukee, WI  -  $15,000 for program and evaluation support, for services that assist homeless women in recovery as they move toward self-sufficiency and economic independence and to provide follow-up tracking for graduates of these programs.

Notre Dame Middle School, Inc., Milwaukee, WI  -  $25,000 for support of the After-School Enrichment Program, to provide a safe haven and educational and recreational support for south side neighborhood students and graduates. 

The Parenting Network, Inc., Milwaukee, WI - $25,000 for renewed support of the MELD Parenting that Works program, a nationally accredited curriculum using teaching, exercises and peer support to improve parenting skills and prevent child abuse.

PEARLS for Teen Girls, Inc., Milwaukee, WI  -  $10,000 for support of a third-party evaluation of the PEARLS replication process. 

Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, WI - $4,000 – as a year-end gift in support of efforts to engage local church leaders in the central city area of Milwaukee in educational programs for children and families.

The Prescription Advocacy & Referral Service, Inc., Milwaukee, WI - $4,000 – as a year-end gift to support the Emergency Medications program.

Prevent Blindness Wisconsin, Inc., Milwaukee, WI  -  $50,000 for a lead gift in support of a partnership with Milwaukee Public Schools and the Center for Urban Population Health at UW-Milwaukee that will eventually expand to screen the vision of all MPS K5 and 5th graders each year. 

Repairers of the Breach, Milwaukee, WI - $4,000 – as a year-end gift in support of continuance of programs and services addressing the challenges facing the homeless, from day time shelter to assistance with job seeking.

Running Rebels Community Organization, Milwaukee, WI - $2,000 – as a year-end gift for continuance of offering a youth program that focuses on education and recreational
activities, providing Milwaukee area youth with positive alternatives to gangs and substance abuse.

St. Ann Center for Intergenerational Care, Inc., Milwaukee, WI - $35,000 for the Overnight Respite program, providing respite services for elders, family and other caregivers.

S.E.T. Ministry , Milwaukee, WI  -  $40,000 for support of a nurse case manager for the Emergency Department Community Case Management Program, to reduce inappropriate uses of the emergency room and re-direct clients to suitable health care. This project is jointly funded with Assurant Health and seeks to create a replicable model for other hospitals.

Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts, Brookfield, WI  -  $15,000 for Beyond the Classroom, a series of arts education events to expand classroom learning through school performance presentations that enhance and bring to life a diverse series of topics.

Silver Spring Neighborhood Center, Inc., Milwaukee, WI  -  $29,000 for support of expansion of several Youth Social Development Programs, which aim to promote a positive future for young people, encourage youth development and youth leadership, and reduce various risky behaviors. 

Skylight Opera Theatre, Corp., Milwaukee, WI - $25,000 for support and evaluation of the Enlighten program, an education initiative serving Milwaukee Public Schools students, offering writing and theatre workshops, student productions and performances and touring presentations.

Sojourner Truth House, Inc., Milwaukee, WI - $35,000 for support of enhancement and evaluation of the Batterer’s Anonymous program, which administers education, support groups and counseling to give batterer’s the skills to recognize and communicate feelings without violence.

StretcherBearers Ministries, LLC, Milwaukee, WI - $4,000 – as a year-end gift for support of the Inside Journal, a newspaper for the incarcerated to be used in the process of Restorative Justice, with the goal of connecting incarcerated parents with their children.

Task Force on Family Violence, Milwaukee, WI  -  $25,000 for the Courthouse Advocacy Program, the "front door" to the civil legal system for thousands of victims of domestic violence and abused children who need legal protection in Milwaukee County.

Transitions: Men of Tomorrow Inc., Milwaukee, WI - $2,000 – as a year-end gift for continuance of support programs for African American males.

United Community Center, Milwaukee, WI  -  $25,000 for support of the Latino Geriatric/Dementia Project, a collaboration with the Alzheimer's Association of SE WI, the WI Alzheimer's Institute and the Medical College of WI to create a distinctive diagnostic, service and support center for Latinos and south side Milwaukee residents living with Alzheimer's and associated dementia.

UWM Foundation , Milwaukee, WI  -  $45,000 for program support at the Helen Bader Institute of Nonprofit Management, including support for ENTECH to improve technology use among nonprofit organizations and to assist the Institute with co-hosting issue forums on governance, finance, regulation and diversity in nonprofit organizations.

Volunteer Services for the Visually Handicapped, Inc., Milwaukee, WI - $4,000 – as a year-end gift for support of Transcription Services, which will develop and implement the new Digital Talking Book format for books and written material.

Walker’s Point Youth & Family Center, Milwaukee, WI - $4,000 – as a year-end gift to continue serving runaway, homeless and other youth in crisis and their families through counseling and other services.

Wisconsin Council on Children and Families, Madison , WI  -  $35,000 for support of the Better Badger Baby Bus Tour, a bus that has been transformed into a mobile training and education facility used to encourage healthy brain development among Milwaukee-area children. The grant will expand program partnerships and target childcare providers for training in supporting healthy adolescent brain development.

Women’s Center of Waukesha, Waukesha, WI - $4,000 – as a year-end gift to support the Grandparents Parenting Again program.

Woodland Pattern Book Center , Milwaukee, WI  -  $15,000 for support of the Urban Youth LIteracy Arts Program, to involve youth in the River West Neighborhood in creative writing and education throughout the year.
