Badger Association of the Blind, Milwaukee, WI - $15,000 for an expansion of vision rehabilitation services for seniors.

Big Brothers Big Sisters, Milwaukee, WI - $40,000 a renewal grant for the Amachi Project Children of Promise, serving children who have a parent that is incarcerated.

COA Youth and Family Centers, Milwaukee, WI - $40,000 for Family-Centered Programming Initiative that links youth recreational, educational and community services with families and parents - 3rd year support.

Columbia St. Mary's Foundation, Milwaukee, WI - $30,000 for the Madre Angela Dental Clinic, to support expanded dental care for low-income residents of the City.

Counseling Center of Milwaukee, Milwaukee, WI - $20,000 for the Pathfinders runaway and homeless youth program, providing shelter, counseling, case management, street outreach, and supportive services for teenagers.

Family House Inc., Milwaukee, WI - $15,000 for Men with Vision project which provides peer support, mentoring and opportunities for community services for young males in the Family House target area.

Grand Avenue Club, Inc., Milwaukee, WI - $20,000 for Learning and Earning, a young adult supported work program that helps with high school to college transition and college graduation.

Greater Milwaukee Committee, Milwaukee, WI - $10,000 funding the hiring of a facilitator and completion of a strategic plan for the Milwaukee Public Schools.

Greater Milwaukee Foundation, Milwaukee, WI - $65,000 for the Nonprofit Management Fund serving Milwaukee, Ozaukee and Washington Counties. The fund provides small technical and management assistance grants to small and medium-sized organizations to improve their business, governance and financing activities.

Greater Milwaukee Foundation, Milwaukee, WI - $10,000 for the Nonprofit Management Fund of Waukesha County, which provides technical and management assistance grants to Waukesha-County based organizations.

Greater Milwaukee Foundation, Milwaukee, WI - $2,500 for continued funding for the Report Card on Philanthropy, the annual benchmark report on philanthropy in the metropolitan area.

Greater Milwaukee Foundation, Milwaukee, WI - $25,000 for the Nonprofit Management Fund's BoardStar project and its mission to increase the involvement and capability of the Boards of nonprofit organizations in the greater Milwaukee area.

Greater Milwaukee Foundation, Milwaukee, WI - $35,000 for the Violence-Free Zone, a project involving the Latino Community Center and Running Rebels, coordinated nationally by the Center for Neighborhood Enterprise.

Ko-Thi Dance Company, Milwaukee, WI - $15,000 for transition support and expanded business planning for the organization’s efforts to improve administration and secure a permanent home for the dance and arts education facility.

Layton Boulevard West Neighbors, Milwaukee, WI - $40,000 for the Senior Housing and Neighborhood Connection Program, that focuses on providing seniors with home assessments, repairs and neighborhood service connections to remain in their home and to play an active role in the community - 2nd year support.

Legal Aid Society of Milwaukee, Milwaukee, WI - $30,000 for support of the HELP (Helping the Elderly with Legal Problems) Program that seeks to improve the review and appeals process for Social Security Disability, with emphasis on older adult applications.

Milwaukee Aging Consortium, Milwaukee, WI - $35,000 for the Senior Housing Project.

Milwaukee Art Museum, Milwaukee, WI - $16,000 for Art Aloud, a joint effort with the Milwaukee Public Library that promotes reading, art appreciation and a more diverse audience for the museum.

MilwaukeeCares, Milwaukee, WI - $30,000 for its efforts to expand physician involvement and access to specialists, in conjunction with the Milwaukee County Medical Society and the Milwaukee Free Clinic Coalition. The grant will also enable an expanded availability of free or deeply discounted prescription medicines to patients served through MilwaukeeCares.

Milwaukee Public Library Foundation, Milwaukee, WI - $48,025 for the 2007 Summer Reading Program of the Milwaukee Public Library.

Milwaukee Public Library Foundation, Milwaukee, WI - $13,794 for an independent evaluation of the Summer Reading Program of the Milwaukee Public Library.

Milwaukee Turners, Milwaukee, WI - $15,000 in continuing support for the 4th Street Forum for the civic and civil conversations, broadcasting and distribution of local and national expert's views on a wide range of challenges facing Milwaukee.

Milwaukee Urban League, Milwaukee, WI - $25,000 for Project ALIVE, which will test specific strategies in several schools to increase student and family participation in education and student achievement.

Mother Kathryn Daniels Conference Center, Milwaukee, WI - $40,000 over two years to expand the Argilla Youth Development Program, which provides character development training and employment opportunities for youth.

Neighborhood House of Milwaukee, Milwaukee, WI - $25,000 for the Early Childhood Services/Family Home-based Literacy Program serving Hmong, Somalit and other recent immigrant families - a project of the International Learning Center.

Rebuilding Together Greater Milwaukee, Milwaukee, WI - $15,000 for expansion of the home repair program, and to assist in creating community partnerships to provide free home repairs to low-income homeowners with physical disabilities and/or are over 60 years old.

Safe & Sound, Milwaukee, WI - $23,000 for support of KaBoom! WE Play! Workshop entirely on play.

Transitional Living Services, Milwaukee, WI - $60,000 for the Milwaukee Crisis Resource Center, serving adults with serious mental illness, substance abuse and co-occurring disorders who are experiencing psychiatric crises. The project is an outgrowth of the Mental Health Task Force and has received national demonstration funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

United Community Center, Milwaukee, WI - $25,000 for the Latino Geriatric Center, a model project serving older Hispanics in the Milwaukee area - 2nd year support.

Urban Day School, Milwaukee, WI - $40,000 for two different projects: a program pairing advocates with designated students and families to improve student achievement, and for a series of visioning conferences to determine the role of a school in supporting students and families in an urban setting as well as, guidelines for the school's strategic plan.

Urban Ecology Center, Milwaukee, WI - $45,000 for Neighborhood Environmental Education Programs.

UWM Foundation, Milwaukee, WI - $50,000for the Helen Bader Institute for Nonprofit Management - ENTECH, a model University effort involving students, campus resources and philanthropic support to enhance the nonprofit sector's use of technology.

UWM Foundation, Milwaukee, WI - $5,000 for continuation of the Senior Housing Charette initiative with an emphasis on Public Policy and Capacity-Building for improved elder housing design.

West Allis/West Milwaukee Recreation & Community Services Department, West Allis, WI - $20,000 for the Irving School Special Needs Accessible Playground, designed for special needs students as well as the general population.

WI Council on Children and Families, Madison, WI - $35,000 for the Ready, Set, Grow Technical Assistance and Training Project - 3rd year support for the Council's efforts to build an area "Brain Team" to stimulate conversation and action among child care and health providers on healthy brain development and to provide technical assistance to selected child care providers on stimulating healthy brain development among very young children.

Wisconsin Center for Nursing, Inc., Waukesha, WI - $60,000 over two years for the “Raising the Bar” project to demonstrate new methods of educating and employing public health nurses. The award is part of a national application to the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

Wisconsin Center for Nursing, Inc., Waukesha, WI - $30,000 for continued program and operations support for the Center, a confederation of schools of nursing, nursing associations and health systems.

Wisconsin Foundation for Independent Colleges, Inc., Milwaukee, WI - $25,000 to improve working partnerships with neighborhood organizations and to design and launch the arts and science component of CR-21 with several partners including Discovery World and the Medical College of WI.
